We all have a song, a melody that throws us into moments of our personal history.
Hi, I’m Nimrod and I’m here to tell you about “Caifas”- my Falafel-Cinematic band. We sample sounds from Egyptian movies and Ennio Morricone’s soundtracks and open a back door to the streets of Haifa, the only city in Israel where East and West genuinely meet.
Caifas is the ancient name of my hometown, Haifa. It is a big peaceful city, full of green forests and beautiful beaches. The delectable music and food reflect the diversity of its people. Everyone knows everybody, and we can all live by our beliefs without being judged.
After 5 Years of touring in Israel, we are about to release our debut album, “Open Letter”. It reflects the relationships between the Jews, the Arabs, and the Druses in Haifa.
It’s hard to describe a home using words, it’s even harder to translate it into instrumental music, but I hope to inspire a feeling of home in anyone who will listen.
Imagine Middle Eastern instruments like Oud and Bouzouki combined with classical instruments like piano and flute.
All this is bathing in synths and Electric guitars. Just like the colorful Haifa- our music blends modernity, nature, and tradition.

Who is "Caifas"?
Caifas is a Falafel-Cinematic band, sampling sounds from Egyptian movies and Ennio Morricone’s soundtracks. They take the listener on a journey through Contemporary prog-jazz and open a back door to the streets of Haifa, the only city in Israel where East and West genuinely meet.
On one side of the stage is an ancient Arabic Oud and a modern articulate piano on the other. Together they sweep, blend, dare, and discover while preserving tradition and keeping an open eye into the future.
Band leader Nimrod Eldar played at Snovsk festival in Ukraine, KMC showcase in Japan, Gaukarinn in Iceland, and the Israeli showcase festival. Some of Caifas accolades include but are not limited to the biggest festivals in Israel (Central Park 2021) and winning the “Hama’abada Bemeggido” contest.
After releasing two live sessions, “Inte Arabi” and “Meggido sessions”, Caifas are about to release their debut album “Open Letter” (TBA). The album embodies the relationships between the Jews, the Arabs, and the Druzes in Haifa.
